Nick and I were married in 1996.  We spent our honeymoon at the Jersey Shore.  It was the end of May, and perhaps not warm enough to plan a beach vacation, but we did about as much non beach stuff as two people at the Jersey Shore can do, and besides the overwhelming happiness I felt from being with my husband, a word that felt as though it needed quotation marks, and would forever, the thing that most stands out about the trip was driving around the small towns, listening to the radio and being newlyweds.  Since then, life changes, people change stuff changes, but I've feeel the same way about Nick as I've always felt: wonder, amazement, joy.  Sometimes I plan things in my head that I know I will probably never do, but since 1996 I've kept an ongoing list of songs that remind me of of him and maybe more than any other music I've ever heard, this song by Dramarama does.  Maybe because they're a New Jersey band, but our honeymoon weekend, we heard this song over and over.  Nevermind that it's a song about a struggling marriage between very young people,  but at the time, all we heard was "because you married me", and so it reminds me of my brand new love.

You guys have a nice weekend, ok?

Note:  You may be watching the VH1 show "Bands Reunited", and I certainly hope you caught Dramarama.  They sang this song, and it made me smile.
