HEH.

Happy New Year and all that crap.  My birthday came and went, and the cool thing was that THREE people made me my favorite cake.  My favorite cake is simple, as far as cakes go:  White cake with white icing.  The thing that pushes cake over the edge for me is when there's writing on the cake in blue icing.  So, that made Nick's cake for me a few steps beyond the cakes that other people made.  No offense, other people.  I love blue food, so there you go.

Today is my first day back at work since December 23rd, and I feel all weird and out of sorts.  I woke up about an hour before my alarm because I was so freaked by having to set the alarm at all.  Damn you, work! (Please note:  When I got here this morning, Phil walked in with balloons.  They read: "Good Luck!!"  and "Happy Retirement", which I think is hilarious.  Maybe it's just me)  I mean, I didn't do a whole hell of a lot when I was off.  Some shopping.  Some visiting with family.  Mostly just fucking off, which suits me fine.  The most dramatic thing I did while I was off was reformatting my extremely screwed up laptop, and in doing that I installed OS X, which I've used a couple times but have really been fighting the good fight about.  I like OS 9.  It's suited me well over the past 4 years or so, and now, with OS X on my machine, it runs really slowly (I have an old Ibook, a G3, which I guess is not the optimal thing for OS X.  That's how it's going to be until I win a huge amount of money or I get a sugar daddy to give me money to get a new one).  The thing I haven't yet figured out how to do is update my page from X.  I don't have Netscape installed anymore, and I use Composer for all of my HTML needs.  Also, my cam doesn't seem to work with X, either.  And, I don't have any idea how to create an address book for the X mail program.  So, as you can see, I'm still trying to get a grip on the whole thing.  Damn you, Mac, for screwing with my head.

I have to confess, though, that the main reason I even bothered to upgrade to X was because of Bookworm.  I'm not going to talk about it, how I spend practically all of my free time at home playing, because it seems kind of pathetic, even to me.  But still, it's a good game.  A really good game.  A REALLY STUPIDLY GOOD GAME.

There you have it.  I'm a little too stupid for OS X, and I'm obsessed with web based word games.  If I wasn't such a lazy sack of crap, I might do the 2003 wrap up everyone does.  Also, if I thought it would be even remotely interesting, which it probably wouldn't be, unless I made shit up, which is way too much effort.

Happy 2004.
