Hah! My first meme. Even though I still don't really know what MEME means. It sounds sort of dirty. Pretty Wendy sent it to me, and I always do as I'm told. Because I am good.

1. How many books I own: Oh, christ. A lot. They're everywhere. The bad (but also good) thing about being here in CT is there are two amazing and fun used book places (both BARNS. SERIOUSLY) I don't really buy hard to plow through books. I confess it. Chick Lit, although not even remotely being targeted to me, even though it makes me sort of homicidal, is what sings me to sleep at night.

2.) The last book I bought: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, Michael Chabon.

3.) The last book I read: I am only a little embarrassed to admit that it was something called "Hissy Fit" by Mary Kay Andrews. I got it from the library! Don't look at me like that!! Stop it!!

4.) Five books that mean a lot to me:
1. A Confederacy of Dunces: John Kennedy Toole. I've loaned this out more times than I can count. Some people loved it and thought it was wonderful and hilarious. Other people hated it. Whatever. If you hated it, you're wrong. I can't really wrap my brain around how Will Ferell playing Ignatius is going to be anything but awful, even though I love him.
2. Babar and Zephir: My FAVORITE of all the Babar books, my mom gave it away when I was a little too old for it. When Amazon came onto the scene way back when, I tracked the book down and bought it for A FORTUNE. Notice no link? Because it's IMPOSSIBLE to find.
3. I Never Loved Your Mind: Paul Zindel. This is the first book I really remember reading as a young pre-pre teen, and I remember finding it absolutely hilarious and Paul Zindel is the reason I ever wanted to write. Seriously, this book cracks me up, PLUS it was the fist time I'd ever seen anyone use footnotes. Read it. His books made me what and who I am today.
4. Pardon Me, You're Stepping on My Eyeball: Paul Zindel. I included this image rather than a book description because I picked up this particular edition at one of the book barns here for 75 cents. See how much they're selling it for? That's right. $35. It was really hard for me to choose which of his books to include, so please let me sneak in Confessions of a Teenage Baboon.
5. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn: Betty Smith. I've read and reread this book probably a thousand times, and Johnny dying gets me EVERY time.

5.) Five people I’ve tagged: (Assuming they haven’t been tagged already.)

I don't actually have five friends, so this may die with me. I mean, I'm sure I have five friends, just not 5 who'd fill this out, because I assume they have lives. If any of you reading this would like to send me your answers, I'll post 'em!
