March 4
There was something I forgot to mention about Lucinda and her shoppe. As I made the appointment, she told me the price (SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS!) and told me I would have to pay half up front. I wrote her a check, doing some frantic math in my head, to make sure I wasn't going to bounce any important outstanding checks, and ended up convincing myself that she would never cash the check right away, because most people wait at least a week and do all their billing at the end of the month or something.
Imagine how surprised I was come Sunday when I tried to take money out of the bank and was denied. I checked my balance. $12.58. She cashed my check THE NEXT DAY. That didn't give me a warm feeling as to her, well, legitimacy. If you're planning on being somewhere awhile, why run out and cash a check for $300?
This morning, I got to work, and saw that my message light was on on my phone. I retrieved the messages. Once was from Lucinda. Thinking that maybe she needed to change my appointment or something, I called back. "Oh, HI, this is Lucinda! I'm responding to your email, you said you had a few questions about our services!?!?"
I paused.
"Um. Lucinda. We met last week. I have an appointment with you tomorrow."
"You DO? What time???"
"11:00. And, you answered my mail with a phone call about 3 weeks ago..."
"I DID? Well! Look how efficient I am!"
"Uhh. Huh!"
"And what are you having done tomorrow??"
"Um. Maybe you need to check your files!"
"Wait, are you getting the wig??"
"The WIG? No! Extensions!!"
"REALLY? Great! Okay, then! I'll see you tomorrow!!
I can rip them out of my head if they're horrible, right? I mean, she's not going to attach them to my BACK or forehead, is she? IS SHE???
